  1. Hmmn, she has not yet fulfilled her end of the bargain on her blog :D

Happy Typewriter Day!, and it's good to see you back in the saddle. Feels good to put ink on paper, yes? (:

  2. I might also have mentioned that, once I got the Noiseless 8 running, I pulled out the other... hmmm... four operational machines and gave 'em some exercise. You might not know it, though, if you saw my practice sheets. One of these days, I will have to acquire something with a font other than Pica 10. Even my non-functioning Remington Scout has Pica typebars.

One more note: I'm used to my Noiseless 7 being quieter than either Model 5, but the Noiseless 8 is absolutely eerie. :)

  3. I flunked time management for so many years - a casualty of service industry work, you might say. That was until I took one of my regular performance review reccomended TM courses. It was the usual old spiel, of course but two nuggets came out of it, and I remeber them still. Nugget 1) rank your to do list a,b and c. Anything on list c is very unlikely to ever get done, so dump it. The same pretty much goes for list b, but take look at it if you finish list a. Nugget 2) it is easy to think that saying yes to help others makes them happy but adds to your stress. At least, that's what I fund. It makes you the 'go to' person because of your near limitless capacity. It makes you look good at what you do. The thing is, being a little more selfish with your time and learning to say no is massively liberating and, as it happens, doesn't necessarily make you any less well regarded... at work or out of it. You know all this, but I was pleased to have it spelled out for me at the time so I'm just passing it on. Noiseless 8 sounds (?) spooky
